Duolingo or IELTS which should we prefer ?

International English Language testing system (IELTS) is conducted by IDP and British Council whereas Duolingo is the conducting body itself. IELTS can be taken online as well as offline mode while Duolingo can be taken only in online mode. Another aspect of it is, the level of Difficulty is also less comparatively to the IELTS. The Duration of the examination is nearly 165 minutes (2 hours and 45 minutes) of IELTS while in Duolingo it is 60 minutes.

The another benefit of taking Duolingo test is the results are declared within 48 hours while in IELTS in the online mode as well results are declared within 4-5 days while in offline mode it takes 13 days. It is marked upon 0-9 Bands while Duolingo is marked upon a score of 10-160.

IELTS consists of 4 modules that are Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking while in Duolingo there are 2 sections first one is Adaptive Test and second is Video Interview. In adaptive test it consists of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking for 45 minutes and Video interview for 10 minutes.
