Introduction to GRE:

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is the most predominant step for taking admissions in the Graduate Programs or any Graduate Business Program such as Masters in Business Administration (MBA).

This examination tests your knowledge on Basic Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Data Analysis. GRE is divided into 3 sections which are:

1. Analytical Writing

2. Verbal Reasoning

3. Quantitative Reasoning

The Quantitative Reasoning and the verbal reasoning sections are scored on the scale of 130-170 whereas the Analytical Reasoning is scored between 0-6. In the first section of Analytical Reasoning it consists of 2 tasks i.e. “Analyse an issue” and “Analyse an argument” for which you will be given 60 minutes in total.

Coming to the second section that is the verbal Reasoning part which comprises of a total of 20 questions where 6 questions are of text completion, 4 are of sentence equivalence, and the next 10 are of Reading Comprehension. Here also a total of 60 minutes is given.

The third section is of quant that is Quantitative Reasoning which again has a total of 20 questions where 7-8 questions are of Quantitative comparison, 12-13 questions are based on Problem Solving.

Other than that one additional section will also be present which will be unscored or experimental which might be verbal reasoning or Quantitative Reasoning.
