The IELTS is an English Language test that measures

or American while TOEFL only accepts American accent from its test takers.
Similar to IELTS exam TOEFL also comprises of 4 modules
Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. But the difference is that marks are
given from 30 in each module and then it is summed given out of 120. Also, TOEFL almost has multiple choice questions
unlike IELTS which has different range of questions such as gap filling, short
answer or true and false.
The Listening and Speaking section are same in both
the examinations. In Speaking section of IELTS exam test is taken face-to-face
while in TOEFL exam no physical person is present to evaluate but your
responses are recorded and assessed. The overall test takes 4 hours to
complete.
For the writing sections, TOEFL exam has to be
typed instead of written responses of IELTS Exams. Both tests have 2 tasks to
complete but TOEFL essay is a bit longer as in task 2 of IELTS students have to
write only 250 words whereas in TOEFL they have to write minimum 300 words.
