Why to choose TOEFL:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized test to measure the English Language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking Universities. The TOEFL test is the world's most accepted English-Language test for study, work and immigration. Secondly, now you have a choice of where and how to give i.e. whether at the test centre or at home.

Similar to IELTS exam TOEFL also comprises of 4 modules Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. But the difference is that marks are given from 30 in each module and then it is summed given out of 120. Also, TOEFL almost has multiple choice questions unlike IELTS which has different range of questions such as gap filling, short answer or true and false. 

The only major difference is that IELTS accepts English speakers in all accents while TOEFL only accepts American accent.
